Did you know that Lemongrass essential oil, is a great alternative to chemical mosquito repellents like Deet (1). More and more people are looking for safe alternatives to harsh chemical formulas, which may cause health concerns for some people.
When competing in Thailand earlier this year, I found myself to be tasty bait for the little critters and headed straight to the chemist to see what I could find. I was amazed to see how many natural bug repellent sprays there were, and the majority of them containing lemongrass as a major ingredient.
I love Doterra Essential Oils and have nearly every oil they produce. When I returned to Perth, I decided to try making my own. I must confess, I was a little too busy to make my own spray, so I put a few drops of the lemongrass essential oil in a roller bottle. I mixed it with some fractionated coconut oil and used that. Success!!
